First Day of Teaching and Learning at Lakemba Campus

On Monday, 24 February 2025, Al-Faisal College – Lakemba Campus officially commenced its first day of teaching and learning, marking an exciting new chapter for our youngest students and their families. The day was filled with joy and anticipation as parents joined us for a special welcome and guided tour of our brand-new K–2 campus, which features multiple playgrounds, a dedicated soccer field, a vibrant mural-covered play area, a fully equipped playground, basketball and handball courts, a state-of-the-art library, and mobile laptop trolleys to support digital learning.

The morning began with a spiritually uplifting opening ceremony, led by Sheikh Ahmed Kasem, Imam of Omar Mosque in Auburn, who recited verses from the Holy Qur’an, shared a heartfelt translation, and offered a dua (supplication) for blessings and success.

Our Director General, Dr Intaj Ali, warmly welcomed families on behalf of Mr Shafiq Khan, the Founder and Managing Director of Al-Faisal College. This was followed by a presentation and site tour by Executive Principal, Mrs Safia Khan Hassanein, who spoke about the history, vision, and values of the College. Ms Faten Moussalli, Head of Campus, introduced parents to the teaching and learning program and outlined the educational approach for the year.

The event concluded with a symbolic Magnolia tree planting ceremony, representing our hope that just like this tree, the students of Al-Faisal College – Lakemba will spread their roots deeply, grow in faith, and flourish in knowledge and character—Insha Allah, achieving success in this life and the next.
